FIC: Sex, Lies, and Audiobooks [23 Nov 2009|03:24am]

joanwilder
Title: Sex, Lies, and Audiobooks
Author: RaeWhit ( aka [info]joanwilder)
Team: Snitch!
Genre: Alive and Kicking (EWE)
Prompts: Secrets and Lies, Coming Home
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17, mild bondage, whipping
Word Count: 48,000+
Summary: Belonging and deserving, needing and wanting—desires of the human heart that Severus and Harry must face when they're forced to the little village of Lochdubh to settle a very late codicil of Albus Dumbledore's will.

Author Notes: The village of Lochdubh and its inhabitants in this story are the property of BBC Scotland (from the series Hamish Macbeth). All things Harry Potter belong to J.K. Rowling et al. I'd be remiss if I didn't express my appreciation to Rudyard Kipling for his masterpiece, Captains Courageous.

This is my journal posting of my 2009 Mixed [info]snarry_games fic. My heartfelt appreciation to [info]jadzialove for the excellent beta reading, to [info]whitecotton for help with Scottish-izing my Scottish, and to [info]sestra_prior for her assistance with British questions.

This is posted in six parts; subsequent parts have been linked.

Deep Dark Woods won for ensemble of the year

Steve Dawson won the Pushing the Boundaries Award for Telescope

and Jim Byrnes won for Contemporary Singer of the Year!

No wonder the Shore Stream blew a fuse tonight!

Weekly Voice in the Wilderness Post! [21 Nov 2009|08:30pm]

Saturday is my Friday, so I'm winding down from a long day's journey into Useless Administrative Makework by readying the beverages and laptop streaming the Jim Byrnes radio show, Slipping into Darkness. Nothing like leveling the blood pressure with a little Jimi Hendrix, Little Walter, and Blackie and the Rodeo Kings!

They are playing a tune by Bell X1, with a segue into the Beatles that works strangely well.

Edit: Link fixed.

Clank Vs Chains [16 Nov 2009|09:17pm]

Sorry for the dearth of updates. See previous posts about the state of ass-kicking my job has given me lately. Luckily for me, the lovely [info]cruisedirector doesn't mind sharing moose pops and Paul Gross with me when I get a day off!

Theater:I'm heading north this weekend for a flying visit to a friend in Chicago, and have three shows lined up! \o/ I'll be seeing Beethoven As I Knew Him,
Don't Give Up On Me
with Peter Gallagher and The Addams Family! which I've been dying to see but didn't think I'd have time for since I'll only be in town two days!

Happy Birthday [info]ariadneelda

Holiday Cards! Don't forget if you want a holiday card, go here if you'd like a bit of Snape and Harry in the mail!

THIS IS IT, THE BIG CAHUNA! [16 Nov 2009|08:21pm]

[info]snarry_ldws

Final Week!

Well, this is it, my friends, the final week for us drabblers. Now it's down to [info]alisanne and myself; we had the option to chose any of the previous genres/topics, and had to incorporate the phrase 'a shot in the dark'. The word count for this final show-down has been raised to 500 words.

Go HERE to read and vote, if you will. Thanks to everyone who's followed the competition over the weeks. It's been fun (except for a few heart-stopping moments when I had NO ideas); there've been great topics and drabbles, and I appreciate everyone who's turned out to participate, whether by writing or reading and voting (not to mention the artists who've made banners).

Now, about the guessing game. You do the math; we're down to two drabbles, so you have a fair chance of figuring out which is mine (I hope [info]lulabelle72 is still playing!). So, my offer still stands: if you correctly guess which of the two is mine, I'll write you a drabble, with one minor change in the offer. For this week only, I'll write Snarry or H/D only. I do owe drabbles still, but I promise to have everyone's done in December. Reply to this entry to leave your guess (comments are screened).

Sweeps week? [14 Nov 2009|08:57pm]

mackiedockie
[ music | Slipping into darkness ]

Everybody notices sweeps week, when they load up the TV shows, but it is weird to be one of the Chosen. Yep, I got that phone call from Arbitron! This week, my vote counts! Not in TV land, though. I get to rock the radio ratings, which is ironic, since I've been haunting a station a good 600 miles away and one country over, the Shore 104, where Jim Byrnes is beginning his Saturday show right now. That's going to mess with their commercial exposure stats.

Some hot King Curtis playing 'Memphis Soul Stew' right now!

The hotter the better, with our first below zero night coming up.
